Application Cycle and Selection Dates
- Two-year program starting annually on August 1st
- We are now accepting applications for the 2025-2027 cycle that commences on August 1, 2025 and ends on July 31, 2027.

How to Apply
The purpose of the FAVOR T32 training grant is to provide two years of funding for surgery residents (post-doctoraltrainees) with a strong interest in transplant surgery, to prepare them for translational research careers using state of the art tools to study allo- and heterologous immune mechanisms pertinent to solid organ transplant injury and acceptance. Trainees will receive in-depth training in translational research to prepare them for careers as academic transplant surgeons.
Qualifications
Post-doctoral surgery residents, US Trained.
- Candidates must be citizens or non-citizen nationals of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence (in possession of a valid Alien Registration Receipt Card, or "green card") at the time of appointment.
- Candidates must hold a post-doc degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution.
- Candidates must be currently appointed in an ACGME general surgery residency program.
- Trainees will be expected to commit full time to the research training.

Selection Process
The Department of Surgery Research Committee and the training grantโs Steering Committee independently review the applications. Constructive criticism of applications from both reviewing bodies is considered an essential first step in the training program. Final decisions will be decided by the Steering Committee.
Responses will be sent out in May, and offers will be extended in June.
